KeppleTech is an Edinburgh-based technology company. We build tools that help students revise and give schools a clearer picture of how their pupils are doing. We started from a straightforward observation: the academic support that makes a real difference — structured revision, timely feedback, a teacher who can see where a student is struggling — is not equally available to everyone.
“We believe modern technology can close the attainment gap — not widen it.”
KeppleTech was founded by two brothers, Mhmoud and Abdelrahman Ghanduri. Both had seen, through their own education, how much the quality of a student’s support depends on factors outside their control — which school they attended, what their family could afford, whether they happened to have a teacher who spotted what they were missing. That felt like a problem worth trying to fix.
We are self-funded and have no external investors. We would rather stay accountable to the schools and students we work with than to a board.
Quorum
Quorum is a closed-loop tutoring and attainment tracking system for schools. It grades student answers against real SQA mark schemes and returns examiner-style feedback. Teachers get a running view of how each class is performing, without having to mark every submission themselves.
StudyPortal
StudyPortal is a revision tool built around a student’s own uploaded materials. Students can ask questions about their notes, generate quizzes, or request a summary of a topic. The platform tracks which areas are weak and adjusts accordingly. It is free to try and does not require a school account.
- Students submit written, numeric, or structured answers
- A rule-based engine handles calculations; a large language model (LLM) handles written responses
- Each answer is checked against the mark scheme point by point
- Feedback is returned in the style of an examiner’s comment
- Teachers see class-wide performance through the Clarity Signals dashboard
- Students upload their notes, past papers, or course documents
- Questions are answered in plain language from the uploaded material
- Quizzes, flashcards, and summaries are generated on demand
- Mastery scores are updated per topic after each session
- Revision schedules weight topics by how poorly they have been retained
Attainment is not destiny
A student’s results should reflect what they know, not what their school could afford. We build with that in mind.
Accuracy before convenience
Where a rule-based approach exists, we use it. The LLM is there for tasks that require actual judgment — not as a shortcut. Students and teachers need feedback they can rely on.
Tools that work with teachers
Our analytics are designed to tell teachers something useful for the next lesson. We are not trying to replace them — we are trying to give them better information.
Student data is not a product
We are a UK data controller under the UK GDPR. Student data is not used to train models, not sold, and not shared beyond what is necessary to run the service.
